On September 9, 2010 dedicated members of the Colonel Reb Foundation stood at The Circle, in the middle of campus, and asked students to sign a petition to bring back Colonel Reb. By signing this petition they were saying that they did not want a new mascot and the only mascot they would embrace is Colonel Reb.
