With a weekend of lost revenue, bar and store owners look ahead to the next home game to gain lost profits from away games.

Off Campus Crime: How Do We Protect Ourselves?


This girl's bruise shows the growing problem of off campus crime that's occurring all around the Ole Miss Campus. This victim was jumped from behind Monday night, as she was walking back to her Campus Creek apartment with her boyfriend, from an on campus fraternity house. She and her boyfriend struggled with the attackers for several minutes until the men gave up and ran off, leaving the two in bewildered hysterics.

It seems there is always something being built on the campus of Ole Miss. It is enough trouble already that the campus is always crowded. If it is not residence halls, or more parking, there should probably be little construction as possible!

The Legacy of the Class of 2014


Recipients of the LuckyDay Scholarship listen as a member of the Associated Student Body informs them of the "Legacy Gift" campaign. The campaign is designed to develop a fund to construct a new Turner Center and Union on the Ole Miss campus by adding a designated amount to their Bursar account at the beginning of each semester.

Summer may be coming to an end, but people all around are still exercising trying to get in shape before fall arrives. Whether it's running, weight lifting, or playing a sport, people are on the track to a healthy life style.

Busted Sewage Pipe Causes Backup



A busted sewage pipe is the cause of recent construction near Holman hall.  Due to this construction, limited sidewalk space has disrupted students' routine walks to class, especially because of the construction's proximity to popular campus locations, such as the Union, the J.D. Williams Library and the Circle.

Trouble at the Health Center?

Close to noon on September 9, 2010 fire trucks and other rescue vehicles blocked the road as students were evacuated from the student health center and fire fighters investigated the building. Although chaos was surrounding the health center, nothing too serious seemed apparent from an outside perspective.

Not Giving Up Without A Fight

On September 9, 2010 dedicated members of the Colonel Reb Foundation stood at The Circle, in the middle of campus, and asked students to sign a petition to bring back Colonel Reb. By signing this petition they were saying that they did not want a new mascot and the only mascot they would embrace is Colonel Reb. Oxford Park Commission Hopes to Expand Tennis Facility

Debbie Swindoll, Oxford Park Commission Tennis Director, and several young Oxford residents prepare for their weekly tennis lesson. OPC hopes to expand the John Leslie Tennis Facility, located on Price Street near Stone Park, from 6 courts to 20 courts in order to accommodate the increasing number of Oxford residents and Ole Miss students.

Rangers at Sardis Lake performed courtesy safety inspections on visitor’s boats, prior to them launching at the boat ramps. These inspections were done to prevent water related/boating accidents during the Labor Day holiday weekend.

Illegal Parking; Bringing in Even More Money for Ole Miss


Ole Miss’ acceptance of approximately 1,000 more students than in previous years has made parking chaotic for not only students living on campus, but for commuting students as well. Illegal parking and parking tickets are becoming a frequent occurrence for students coming home late at night.

Football Season Isn't Going Off With Such A Big Bang

Lines at the Ole Miss ticket office are nonexistent, even though the university has a little over 1,000 student football tickets left to sell for the 2010 season. Vaught-Hemingway Stadium won't be as full as expected this fall, however, the cheers and shouts of the Rebel fans won't be any less loud this season.


Labor Day Holiday Brings Heightened Police Patroling


Police patroling will be in full force this weekend due to the Labor day holiday and heightened traveling. They will be checking for licenses, expired tags, stickers, and for drivers under the influence. Road blocks will be in place. Be on the look out for the blue lights!

The Heart of Ole Miss

The heart of Ole Miss, also known as the Grove will look nothing like this picture come Saturday. This weekend is the first game for the Ole Miss football team to play. Girls are always dressed up in their finest dresses and boys are always dressed to impress. On Saturday the grove will be filled up with so many people and all you will be able to see are many tents covering the ground in red and blue. The football team will parade down "The Walk of Champions" which is also located in the grove. This picture seems to look like a relaxing place, but come Saturday it will be nothing but insanity and a time to remember.

Ole Miss Commuter Parking is effecting Students Bursar Accounts

Parking tickets are being issued by campus officials to violators who are not parked in the correct lots for commuters. On campus parking is also an issue for students living in the dorms. With 500 more Freshman than last year, parking is a huge issue the needs to be addressed.

A crowd gathers to watch a group of professional student dancers perform in front of the Ole Miss Student Union on Tuesday. Several entertainers, including dancers and musicians, performed throughout the week as part of a Welcome Back Week sponsored by the Associated Student Body.
